CINDERFORD Director of Rugby Nic Corrigan wants his players to ‘ask more questions’ in attack against their upcoming rivals.

Corrigan is extremely disappointed with his side’s performance against Fylde on Saturday.

The Foresters were left to rue a string of missed chances before being completely overwhelmed by the Lancashire side.

The final score was 45-7 and Corrigan wants his players to be more clinical going forward.

He said: “I’m feeling extremely frustrated after our performance against Fylde.

“We held our own for the first 62 minutes where we were 14-7 but we can’t forgive ourselves for the last 20 minutes.

“We have now got to take a long hard look at ourselves and stand up to the challenge.

“Two wins out of ten is nowhere near good enough. We have a squad that is capable of much more.

“Going forward we need to start asking more questions in attack.

“Last year is gone. It’s in the past now I want the players to step up to the challenge.

“We’ve got a good side which should be in much better position that it currently is.

“But we are where we are at this stage and we need to focus on improving.

“I’m very grateful for the support from the fans, for all those who travelled the distance considering the weather conditions.

Cinderford next take on Coventry at Dockham Road on Saturday and Corrigan is calling on his players to rise to the occasion.

He said: “Coventry will be a good home test for us. We are up against a side which probably has seven or ten times the running costs that we do.

“We have a very loyal and candid support. But the players need to be performing well to make the rugby enjoyable to watch.”
