DRYBROOK have elected club stalwart Chris Tingle as their new president.
Tingle, who is the club’s second-most capped player with 855 appearances for the Squirrels, will take over from long-serving incumbant Gerald Ward, who steps down after 16 years.
Tingle is a popular member of the Mannings club and his first senior appearance came in 1978/79 at the age of 15.
His debut for the first team came the following season against Wiveliscombe away.
Tingle went on to play 323 games for the first team and captained the Club in 1987/88.
“Always a great supporter of the club, Chris has been a one-club man for nearly 50 years,” a club statement read.
“And after so many years serving in numerous capacities is looking forward to his new role with great enthusiasm and was absolutely overwhelmed and honoured to have been asked to take on the presidency.
“It will be a hard task following Gerald, who is a life member and served as president for 16 years.
“He is another who has served the club impeccably for over 65 years and which Drybrook are truly grateful for.
“Everyone at Drybrook wishes Chris great success in his role. He will be officially announced on August 18 during a night of festivities at the clubhouse following the game between Drybrook and Cinderford.”
