GLOUCESTERSHIRE County Council has issued a series of Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders (TTROs) affecting several roads and footpaths across the Forest of Dean District.
These closures, scheduled throughout October and November 2025, are essential for maintenance, resurfacing, drainage, and safety works.
Among the affected routes is Rocks Road in Lydbrook Parish, which will be closed from Orchard Road to School Road until October 24 for footway resurfacing. Holly Lane in West Dean Parish will be shut from October 22-28 for National Grid works, while Sedbury Lane in Tidenham Parish will see overnight closures on October 25 and November 1 for bridge maintenance.
New Road (B4234) in West Dean will be closed this week until October 25 for tree felling and vegetation clearance, with no pedestrian access due to safety concerns. Similarly, the C2 Road from A48 to Cross Hill in Tidenham will be closed on October 23-24 for ditching works.
Public Footpath GDY 41 in Dymock Parish remains closed due to a dangerous bridge, with the closure extended for up to six months from its original emergency notice issued on September 5, while a rolling programme of surface dressing will affect various roads in Lydney, Woolaston, Newnham, and West Dean from November 1 to January 1 2026.
All closures will be clearly signed on-site, with alternative routes provided. Emergency access will be maintained where possible, and pedestrian access will vary depending on the nature of the works.
Changes to plans at Forest Leisure development

A major development at Forest Leisure Coleford (P1174/25/FUL) involves varied conditions and alterations to the leisure building and surrounding infrastructure. At The Steps, St Briavels (P1216/25/FUL), plans include a single-storey rear extension within a conservation area.
