TOWNS and villages along the Severn could become the centre of a Fukushima-style disaster, Lydney residents have been warned.
More than 100 people packed into a meeting to hear that a massive new nuclear plant at Oldbury-on-Severn could mean the Forest getting caught up in a the kind of disaster that hit Japan.

Dennis Hayden was at Maralinga in Southern Australia and is a founder of the Combined Veterans' Forum International.
"Because of this I have accumulated a lot of scientific and other information that may be useful," said Dennis, who lives in Lydney.
"The plans for Oldbury came as a shock to me so, although I have to focus on the Forum, I have offered to give them any information they may find helpful."
