The Forest of Dean District Council has announced a fresh set of licence fees for taxi and private‑hire drivers, vehicles and operators, due to take effect after a 28‑day consultation period. Under the revised charges, a new hackney carriage or private‑hire driver licence will cost £326, with renewals set at £240. Knowledge tests, badge replacements and licence transfers also come with updated fees.
Vehicle licences see a similar shake‑up, with new hackney carriage and private‑hire vehicle licences priced at £334 and £326 respectively. Replacement plates, temporary licences and registration‑number changes have also been revised.
Operators, meanwhile, face new charges of £522 for a five‑year licence and £131 for a one‑year option.
