A series of new planning applications affecting public rights of way, listed buildings and conservation areas have been submitted to Forest of Dean District Council.

A retrospective bid has been lodged for the erection of two forestry welfare buildings at Lower Newent Woods, Judge’s Lane, Cliffords Mesne , a site that lies on a public right of way.

In Huntley, a listed building application seeks permission to remove a wooden trellis and modern metal gate at the western entrance of The Old Rectory, replacing them with new metal gates matching those already approved on the eastern side .

At Land West of Foxfield, Redmarley, plans have been submitted for a self‑build home, including the removal of dilapidated sheds and construction of a timber garage/workshop. The proposal does not fully align with the current development plan and is located within a conservation area.

A second self‑build scheme—this time outline permission for a single dwelling with access—has been submitted for land east of Ferndale, Ross Road, Longhope .

Finally, Rodley Court, Westbury-on-Severn is the subject of an application to extend and alter the roof of an agricultural mill‑and‑mix building, affecting the setting of a nearby listed building.

Applications can be viewed online or at the Council Offices in Coleford. Comments must be submitted by March 11, 2026 and will be published on the council website.
