A 37-year-old Lydney man with a ‘flagrant disregard for court orders’ has been jailed for six months for flouting a restraining order and breaching a community order imposed for offences of assault and harassment.
Shannon Thorne of Wyntours Parade pleaded guilty at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court to going Tesco in Lydney on May 3 this year in breach of a restraining order imposed by the court just a week earlier on April 26.
He also admitted committing the breach while subject to a community order imposed on April 26 for offences of harassing a woman and assaulting her last December.
The magistrates jailed Thorne for a total of 26 weeks and ordered him to pay a £154 surcharge.
They said there had to be immediate imprisonment because of his flagrant disregard for court orders.
