A 15-year-old Bream boy who admitted an assault offence has been placed on an eight-month referral order by magistrates in Cheltenham.

The boy, who cannot be identified because of his age, admitted that on 26th February he assaulted a male person in Cinderford by beating him.

The court made the referral order which requires his parent or guardian as well as a local authority representative to attend meetings with his supervisor.

Magistrates said they did not feel it was appropriate to order the boy to pay any compensation to his victim because he had apologised and his family are of limited means.
