A 44-year-old Littledean man has admitted causing an affray at a Cinderford pub and assaulting a woman on the premises.

Benjamin Yates of Beech Way, Littledean, pleaded guilty to both charges at Cheltenham Magistrates’ Court last week and was bailed for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.

He will be sentenced on 15th October.

The charges state that on 6th August this year, he assaulted the woman at the Dog House pub in Market Place, Cinderford, by beating her and that he committed an affray there on the same date.

Further charges alleging that he used threatening or abusive behaviour towards another woman on the premises and that he caused £50 damage to chairs, glasses and a fan, were withdrawn by the prosecution.

While on bail he must not enter the pub or contact either of the two women.
