A GRISLY warning of a boar’s severed head and entrails have been dumped at the door of a Bream UKIP councillor who advocates a cull of the feral wild boar.
Councillor Richard Leppington, who sits on both the county and district council, said the animal remains were left outside his home on Hallowe’en night – he believes by animal rights activists.
He said: “I found this on Sunday morning and called the police. Whoever did this must be very sick.
“I have elderly neighbours and people with young children. It was not very pleasant for them to witness this.
“However, if the people who were responsible think they will intimidate me then they are sorely mistaken. I will continue to represent my community on issues like boar damage.
“I can’t walk away from this. I have been democratically elected to represent my constituents on this issue and I cannot back down.
“At the same time, I take this threat seriously as do the police and the county council and I shall be very vigilant in terms of my personal security.
“The county council has taken my address off the website and is looking at security measures such as installing CCTV cameras.”
