PHIL Vickery has been appointed assistant forwards coach at Premiership outfit Worcester Warriors.

Vickery, 36, will work alongside forwards coach Nigel Redman and rugby director Richard Hill.

Cinderford Rugby Club appointed Vickery as their rugby consultant at the back end of 2011 and his arrival at Dockham Road coincided with a rapid improvement in results.

Vickery's future role at Cinderford, if any, is now unclear.

Director of rugby Andy Deacon said: "It's possible he could do both roles, but we haven't had any discussions yet."

Cinderford president Peter Bell said: "Our congratulations go to Phil on his appointment.

"We are proud that his involvement with our club helped us raise the bar on and off the field, and we'll continue to benefit from having a close relationship with him and the ability to draw on his resources as and when needed next season."
