FOREST of Dean club gymnasts Josh Cooper, 16 and Iwan Scrivens, nine, are off to Russia for the trip of a lifetime. They will take part in a junior international competition at the end of the month. Russian coach Vladimir Schegolev, who trains the boys, was invited to take a team of three gymnasts to Veronezh to compete in the Genkin Memorial Cup competition. The two boys will be accompanied by Rhys McClenaghan, a gymnast from Northern Ireland who was previously coached by Vlad. The boys will fly to Moscow, then take a nine hour train journey across Russia to the sports centre at Veronezh, accompanied by their parents.
