Cinderford Town 2

Taunton Town 0

MANAGER Steve Peters got the reaction he wanted from his players following last week's disappointing defeat at home to Wimborne.

Cinderford were the better side from start to finish with the fit-again Dale Evans and Brad Andrews returning to boost the flagging midfield.

There was plenty of effort from the visitors, but they hardly threatened Dan Jackson in the home goal.

Town striker Kris Miller looked lively against his former club, forcing Matthews to tip his header over the bar.

It was Miller who put Cinderford in front in the 33rd minute.

Lewis Sommers flicked the ball on and Miller burst into the box, rounded the keeper and slotted from an acute angle.

Late in the first half, Dean Lee skewed a shot wide of the post.

Taunton went closest to equalising through Marsh, who had an effort cleared off the line by Danny Haines.

Cinderford killed the visitors off in the 74th minute when sub Andy Lewis collected the ball off Miller, turned and fired a shot beyond Matthews into the corner of the net.
