Tiverton Town 0

Cinderford Town 0

CINDERFORD produced a gutsy display to come away from fifth-placed Tiverton with a valuable point.

Coach Danny Haines replaced Matt Smith at left-back, while Ashley Malcolm kept his place in the starting XI after impressing against Leamington.

Cinderford looked more assured at the back with Archer and Andy Lewis combining well in the heart of the defence.

Kieran Thomas had another fine match, while the pace of Matt Barnes provided a strong attacking outlet. Despite the score, the game was generally open and Cinderford had chances.

Lewis Sommers had an effort blocked by Concanen, then Dale Evans forced a scrambling save from Wright.

Barnes slipped at the wrong time when well placed for a shot and Sommers fired past the post.

The pitch was bobbly and uneven, making it difficult for both sides to pass their way through the midfield. Cinderford were more direct, breaking at pace. However, they lacked a cutting edge in the final third.

O'Sullivan rode a clumsy challenge to test out Wright again, while Evans had another snapshot saved.

Tiverton finished the game the stronger and had their penalty appeals for a handball against Archer turned down.

Kieran Thomas also made a telling block to keep out a Hill shot that was heading for the bottom corner.
