RUARDEAN Hill Rangers have won their second league title in as many years.

Last year's North Glos League champs crept up on the inside rail to snatch the Northern Senior Division Two title away from longtime leaders Minsterworth, who were surprisingly beaten by Bourton Rovers in midweek.

Hill clinched the title with a 4-1 win over Real Whaddon.

A solitary Luke Johnson goal was all that separated the two sides at the break.

Hill piled on the pressure in the second half and were rewarded with goals from Stuart Boote and Brian Burke.

Whaddon pulled one back, but Johnson netted the fourth – his 39th league goal of the season, making him the league's top scorer this season.

The final whistle brought scenes of jubilation and when skipper Brian Burke was presented with the trophy, it was party time.

Rangers put together an amazing run of 24 games unbeaten.

The club is managed by Andy Coombs and Roger Yemm, but the successful side was largely put together by Andy's predecessor Adrian Cole.
