A LARGE crowd were entertained with a dramatic game at Regentsholme where Lydney gained a win over second-placed Weston Hornets thanks to Tony Wicks’ last-second penalty.

This was a must win game for Lydney to continue with their promotion push.

On 10 minutes, a good break from Conal Mills was recycled out to winger Tai Lakabuka to score. Tony Wicks converted.

The Severnsiders then lost young debutant Joe Park-Davis with a serious shoulder injury but replacement Phil Cowburn had a superb game.

Hornets proved their quality as they started to exert pressure which told with a Jack Martin penalty.

A second kick was missed before Harry Brown was yellow carded for offside.

A man down, Lydney came under pressure at the scrum and the forwards created a try for Joe Gadd which Martin converted to take the lead.
