Lydney’s season is back on track with a stunning away win at Newton Abbot.

The Severnsiders quickly out of the blocks were always in control of the match.

Lydney started the brighter and dominated the opening encounters with the hosts unable to get out of their own half.

The Severnsiders pack caused havoc with the Newton scrum, with number eihgt John Barker picking up and driving over for a try after just five minutes.

Newton Abbot were determined to respond and put pressure on the Lydney line but some poor passing and good Lydney defence saw the line remain intact.

Lydney proved dangerous every time they spun the ball, and, from a scrum, and, a dash by James Pugh saw him run in unopposed for 10-0.

There was to be no let up from the Severnsiders and they continued to dominate the game.
