DRYBROOK World Cup winner and Olympian Natasha Hunt will have another major sporting tournament to add to her impressive CV.
Hunt has been named in the Team England squad for the inaugural women’s sevens tournament at the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in Australia this month.
The Games kick off on April 13 and Hunt is one of seven Olympians to feature in the squad, alongside former captain Emily Scarratt, Heather Fisher, Claire Allan, Emily Scott and Amy Wilson Hardy.
World Rugby Women’s Player of the Year 2017 nominee Lydia Thompson is also included.
“We have a lot of incredibly talented, world class players in this side who are willing to work exceptionally hard for each other and it’s that level of dedication and commitment that we’re hoping will bring success at the Games,” said head coach James Bailey.
England are drawn in Pool B and will kick off the opening day against Fiji, before facing hosts Australia.
On day two, England face Wales in their last pool game.
“So honoured to be representing the girls and be part of this incredible squad,” Hunt tweeted.
“Cannot wait to get out there!”
