A SEVERELY-depleted Lydney were hailed by team manager Dave Emery – with particular praise being reserved for head coach Lee Fortey who played a starring role.
Fortey rolled back the years to lead Lydney’s front row for 30 minutes of the Severnsiders’ 29-15 win over visitors Weston Hornets.
The former Gloucester, Worcester and Newport prop shone as Emery called his coaching colleague ‘a real credit’ with loose-head Brian Ncube out with a broken hand and Costner Lane unavailable.
“[It was] a great result and a well-deserved win,” Emery said.
