LYDNEY team manager Dave Emery wants to see his side make Regentsholme a fortress to help keep them up.
The Severnsiders put on a show in the second half at home against fellow relegation battlers Weston Hornets to earn a crucial 43-22 bonus point win.
Steve Parry and Dave Bennett both crossed the whitewash twice, while Sam Arnott and Jack Ward added another touch down each.
Ollie Locke added five conversions and a penalty.
“I haven’t felt this good after a weekend for a while!” Emery said.
“Obviously it was a must-win for both sides with the situation we’re both in.
“We started very well and got into a good lead but as the first half wore on it seemed as though whoever had the ball could just waltz through.
“It was a pretty poor defensive display from both sides.
“We went in at half-time 19-17 up and came out with a couple of quick tries and that was that really.
“The performance was pretty good but while it’s alright beating the sides down the bottom with us, it would be good to beat a side further up the table.
“We’re off to Maidenhead on Saturday and our attention is already on that game.
“They’re unbeaten at home and they play on a 4G surface which is something we’re obviously not used to.
“The key is just to stay positive. We’ll look to win our home games and then we can keep clawing back up the table hopefully with a win away here and there.
“We’re still 15 points off safety. It’s a massive ask and whether we can do it or not we will have to see.
“We just have to keep fighting until mathematically it’s over.
“I think individually we have players better than most in the league but it’s hard to get it to gel when you get players coming in and out.
“We’ve been working with this group for five or six weeks now though and it’s starting to come together.”
