YOUNG rugby star Charlie Manns is following in the footsteps of fellow Foresters Ceri Large and Natasha Hunt, having been selected to represent the National England Talent Development Squad.

Manns, 14, has been called up to the Under-15s Girls side after impressing during her time representing the South West. Scouts pointed her out after seeing her talent develop during her time as a regional representative.

She has represented Gloucestershire at several games and tournaments over the last few months and the Year 9 Forest High School student is ecstatic to have been chosen to train with such an elite band of players.

“I’m over the moon and overwhelmed at what I have achieved so far,” Charlie commented.

“I’m extremely proud that I have also made my family proud of my achievements.”

Charlie is now looking forward to the England Talent Development Experience over the coming months to truly demonstrate the ability she has shown so far.

Head of PE Mark Hopkins added: “I would like to wish Charlie all the best with this experience as it is fully deserved and is a true recognition of all the hard work and commitment she has shown to representing herself in girl’s rugby.”
