FORMER Cinderford winger Josh Adams scored a hat-trick of tries for Wales as they beat Fiji in a brutal World Cup group clash on Wednesday by 29-17.

Adams, who went on loan at Dockham Road when playing for Worcester Warriors in February 2016, making nine appearances, could have had another as the video referee saw him just put a toe in touch as he grounded the ball in the first-half.

But there was concern for Adams and for Wales as the big winger suffered a knee injury when touching down for his third try and, after struggling on for a while, had to come off.

Wales are now into the World Cup quarter-finals and, should, if likely, they beat Uruguay this weekend.

However, it is touch and go whether they will play England in the last eight. England have a massive game against France in Yokohama.

Whoever tops that group will play Australia in the quarter-finals with the runners-up against Wales if there is no massive shock in the Welsh match with Uruguay.
