NATASHA Hunt and her England Sevens teammates will get a first taste of what it is like to play in Brazil ahead of this year’s Olympic Games after being called up for the second leg of the World Rugby Sevens Series.
Hunt will fly out to Sao Paulo as a part of a 12-member squad on Tuesday ready for the two-day competition next weekend, February 20-21.
England have been drawn against Japan, France and the hosts in the pool stage and will hope to improve on their third-place finish in Dubai in November – a leg Hunt was absent for.
“The girls made a good start in Dubai and since then they have been training and working hard to improve their performance," said head coach Simon Middleton.
"The depth of our squad means that we have 12 players all capable of making an impact, which puts us in a strong position heading into the competition.
“This tournament will really help our preparations as we build with the ultimate aim of being in the best possible shape come August.”
The tournament will be streamed live at worldrugby.org. Highlights will also be broadcast on Sky Sports News.
