DRYBROOK-raised rugby starlet Ceri Large has been selected in the starting line-up for England’s international match against France on Saturday.

Worcester centre Large, a member of the World Cup-winning squad last summer, will start at 12 for England in Martigues on Saturday, November 7.

The match is the first between the two sides since France’s 21-15 win over England in the Six Nations at Twickenham in March.

“France are very good at the set piece,” said head coach Simon Middleton.

“They have a strong line-out and driving maul, and have some strong ball carriers. It will be a very physical game.

“They have the capacity to play up front but also with a bit more width out back.

“More than anything we are concentrating on ourselves. France are very similar to us in that they have a sevens team in the Olympics so a lot of their backs will be absent which means naturally they’ll look to pressure us up front, but we want to play our game.”

Following Saturday’s fixture, England will return home to face Ireland at Twickenham Stoop on Saturday November 14.
