CINDERFORD director of rugby Paul Morris hailed the nerveless Stef Hawley after his last-gasp conversion secured a fourth win from the Foresters’ opening five National League One fixtures.
The Dockham Road side won 27-26 at Darlington Mowden Park, coming from 16-0 down at half-time to do so.
Cinderford have pulled off similar turnarounds against Cambridge and Plymouth Albion and Morris said his team are ‘making a habit’ of not giving up.
“There Is a culture around the place,” he said.
“We didn’t give up easily and I’m comfortable with the way we are playing the full 80 minutes of games.
“If someone had said we would win four out of five games to start the season we’d have taken that.
“It should have been five from five but we let our standards slip against Moseley compared to the previous weeks and we paid the penalty for it.
“I thought we were deserved winners in the end. We wanted to play a particular style and so did they. For 22 minutes we didn’t even have a scrummage."
