CINDERFORD’S Elle Jay-Browning played her last junior game for the club Sunday before representing Hartpury in the Japan Sevens next week, getting on the scoreboard with a try but cover tackling to stop the opposition of Bristol Telephones/Cheltenham Tigers many times and setting up some good off loads for others to score.
On what was the hottest day of the year so far the team put in a great display of open running and handling skills to which this group have developed.
Top point scorer of the day went to Niamh Brennan with two tries and three conversions narrowly missing her third try from a kick through and chase going out of play on the line with her in full flight leaving the opposition standing.
Ruby Purser had opened the scoring with a blistering try in the first minute of the game breaking the defence with a strong run up the middle scoring under the post’s.
Caris’s line breaking and hard running resulted in her scoring two tries and Jenna Skidmore finishing it off the day with 1 try final score 45-24 to Cinderford 18 girls they now go on to play the last game for some next week at home to Kingswood before developing the first Ladies team at the club with the one’s moving up from the junior section, everyone is looking forward to the new venture.
