CINDERFORD Rugby Club is putting together an application for lottery funding to replace the changing rooms roof.

Chairman Rob Worgan explained: "Over the past five years the club has spent well in excess of £100,000 on the upkeep of its facilities – including a new kitchen and central heating system in the clubhouse, new central heating and shower facilities in our changing rooms and re-draining the main ground that was originally levelled in 1961.

"What we have not been able to do yet is to replace the old asbestos roof of the changing rooms that were originally part of the wartime army camp that occupied our site.

"Those changing facilities are now increasingly subject to the ingress of water as the roof is well past its intended life span."
