CRAIG Drew, the professional rally co-driver from Bream, is on course to defend his American National Rally Championship crown, with fellow British driver David Higgins.

The Subaru pair go into next week's final race neck-and-neck with Ken Block and the Factory Ford Rally team.

Craig said: "It doesn't get any closer than that. Basically, whoever wins the final rally wins the championship."
