A CRICKET club that has existed for 153 years will be forced to fold unless new players can be found for the start of the coming season.
Bream Cricket Club was formed in 1860 and matches on their famous Lonk ground have been synonymous with village life ever since.
Now, however, the plight of the club is desperate, and officials say they are unlikely to last the season unless there's a rapid influx of new blood.
Paul Edwards has been a mainstay of the club on and off the pitch for around 35 years.
He said: "We've not had a full team for two years and we played our last two games last season with seven players.
"A lot of the ones still playing are not getting any younger – a couple are in their sixties.
"We will give it a go at the start of the season but if it's not working we might have to call it a day."
