LYDNEY'S coaches and players are mucking in to expand the club's changing rooms and build a new gym before pre-season training starts in July.
The club has already bought new gym equipment and plans to develop a gym in a container unit on the side of the clubhouse.
They are also knocking through the home changing room to make it bigger – repainting it in the club's colours, with 'This is Regentsholme' emblazoned on the walls.
Director of rugby Duncan Bell said: "It might seem gimmicky but seeing things like that before kick-off can make that one per cent difference."
Having been relegated from National Three South last season, Bell says improving facilities is key to attracting players.
He said: "We cannot pay players and geographically we're unfortunate to be so close to Cinderford and Hartpury. It means they get all Gloucester's academy players, and it's the same situation with Worcester."
