WITH Ryan Wilks unavailable, Sam Elliot stepped back into Lydney' s defence after completing his three game ban.
After a bright start, Town were awarded a dubious penalty but Kear's tame kick was easily palmed around the post by Kane Lewis.
North Leigh knocked the ball around at pace and went close when Alfie Saunders hammered a shot over the top. He then saw a vicious free-kick defected wide.
It was against the run of play that Town took the lead. Keeper Josh Loade punched the ball clear and James Barnes collected just outside the area. His pass sent Liddington away and when Lewis decided to stay on his line, Lydney's frontman was able to side-foot home.
Lydney had another shout for a penalty turned down after Kear clashed with North Leigh's Dan James on the half-hour mark. Five minutes later the same two players squared up – causing a massive rumble involving players from both sides. Kear and his opponent were sent off and the game continued.
