COLEFORD-based shooting coach Dave Brown hopes to have found a future olympian in Charlie Smith.

Smith, from Ross-on-Wye, has been chosen by British Shooting to join the Great Britain Olympic Talent Pathway.

“This is a great opportunity for Charlie, a pupil at Monmouth Haberdashers School for Boys, to be coached by some of the best Olympic coaches,” Brown said.

Smith was recently presented with a skeet vest, cap and shooting glasses at Trowgreen Farm Shooting School, generously donated by Geoff Norman of Browning.

The timing was perfect as Charlie was celebrating his 15th birthday and had just received his shotgun certificate.
