Aston Ingham’s Mikey Gooch scored 84 runs and took six wickets as the Gloucestershire side comfortably beat visitors Usk in the last friendly of the pre-season.
Aston elected to bat but found themselves in trouble when openers Frankie Gooding and Tim Dulson going with the score on 37 and Dharzekanth Yoganadan departing with just two more runs on the board.
Usk continued to make progress with Oli Henson going to a catch for 19 to make it 64-4.
Captain Alex Gooding became the fifth wicket to fall when he was bowled for 15 with the home side on 71.
Seven runs had been added to the total when Nick Merrin was stumped for 11.
Ed Bell, who had replaced Gooding, and Gooch then added 40 for the seventh wicket before Bell was bowled for 15.
Gavin Flynn was then caught after the score had moved on by two runs to 120 with eight wickets down.
The momentum changed dramatically when Oli Dennis joined Gooch at the crease.
The pair put on 116 for the eighth wicket with Dennis scoring 77 off 57 balls before he was bowled.
His 55-minute innings included seven sixes and three fours.
The innings closed on 266 when Gooch was stumped having scored 84 off 73 balls including five fours and six maximums.
Having spent 108 minutes at the crease, Gooch was straight back into action opening the bowling.
He struck in the fifth over, taking three wickets in five balls sending Usk from 27-0 to 27-3.
Gooch then claimed another three wickets in the seventh over to reduce the visitors to 34-6.
Gavin Flynn took the seventh wicket with the score on 47.
Sam Didcote took the last three wickets as Usk finished on 115 all out, 151 runs adrift.
