Forest Hills Golf Club hosted the 2025 English Golf Union Midland Junior 4 Counties Trophy, welcoming Warwickshire, Worcestershire, and Staffordshire.

After two days of competition, Staffordshire emerged as the winners, winning all three of their matches, writes Geoff Norris.

Steve Thomson and Michael Parry triumphed in the 2024/25 Winter League, defeating Steve and Josh Goode 6 & 5 in a one-sided final. In the Seniors section, Dave Howard and Pete Chisholm claimed the Winter Hi-Low Pairs knock-out, holding off Mike Steward and Kev Burford 1 up after being four up with four to play.

Nicky Stannard won the Inaugural Cup with a nett 62, ahead of Jean Hosford in second and Carol Verrier in third.

In the Seniors' Yellow and White Tee Medal, Gareth Roberts won the Yellow competition with a nett 69, while Paul Morphey topped Division 1 of the White competition with a nett 70. Ashley Drew won Division 2 with a nett 66 on countback from Ken Ellway. In Division 3, Clive Winward won on countback with a nett 70. The two's kitty was worth £8.00.

Fifty-three players competed in the Saturday Stableford, with Darren Page winning Division 1 with 44 points. Trevor Baker took Division 2 with 40 points. The six two's recorded earned £10.00 each.

In the first leg of The Wye Challenge against Monmouth Golf Club, Forest Hills won 4-2. Mark Graham and Mark McGirr, Darren Williams and Steve Jones, Paul Morphey and Pat Simcoe, and Keelan Reddan and Jaques Macinnes all won their matches, while David Wilding and Fraser Freeman-Jones, and Connor Mullan and Ryan McDonald lost.

The Sunday Norris Decanter Pairs Combined Stableford saw Steve Thomson and Michael Parry win with 81 points, followed by Charlie Thomas and Callum Reeves with 74, and Rob Norris and Rob Smith in third with 73 points. Each of the five two's winners received £24.00.
