VISITORS Gloucester AIW Sports had no answer to Cinderford’s bowling as the Forest side recorded their first Gloucestershire County League win of the season.

Set a target of 152, AIW Sports were bowled out for 99 with nearly 11 overs to spare.

Leading the attack was Mark Roberts who finished with 4-22 off his eight overs – but all four of Cinderford bowlers were among the wickets.

Dan Kibble claimed three wickets for 24 runs, Chloe Skelton 2-23 and Jack Weaving 1-23 as Cinderford picked up 20 league points.

The visitors elected to field and made an early breakthrough when Simon House was bowled for one with the score on 16.

Wicketkeeper Jonathan Bowdler was caught for five to make it 33-2 but opener Edward Ruck was making his presence felt.

He went for 27off 36 balls including four boundaries when he was bowled with Cinderford on 44.

Chloe Skelton went to a catch for three to make it 51-4 which brought the big-hitting Balasingham Sivathas to the crease.

He made 20 at a run a ball which included a six and two fours.

Sivathas was run out with the score on 78-5.

Weaving became the sixth wicket to fall with just four added to the score which brought Mark House, who was to have a significant influence on the Cinderford innings.

The visiting bowlers continued to make progress, taking three Cinderford wickets for just three runs to leave the home side on 102-9.

But the home side were in no mood to fold easily the final wicket partnership between House and captain Mark Roberts added nearly 50

Together they saw out the remaining overs with House ending the innings on 29 off 64 balls including five fours while Roberts contributed 18 off 27 balls including a couple of boundaries.

Kibble got off to a flyer, reducing AIW to 28-3, bowling Abubaker Siddiq Saleh while Dan Singh was caught by Ryan Kibble.

AIW recovered somewhat with Uzair Salehbhai and Libas Uriakhiel doubling the score before Salehbhai was caught by Jordan Warren off Roberts.

Roberts then had captain Farhaan Shaikh lbw to make it 62-5.

Libas Uriakhiel was AIW’s top scorer with 21 before being bowled by Roberts and when Sarfaraz Tarajiya was caught by Weaving off Roberts, the visitors were 87-7.

The last three wickets went for just six runs with Ummer Jabbar caught by Balasingham Sivathas off Chloe Skelton for 93-8.

Jack Weaving bowled Shafiqullah Maroofkhel with two runs added and make it 95-9 before Ryan Kibble took his second catch of the game – off the bowling of Chloe Skelton – to dismiss V Muzavar.
