The blanket of fog that shrouded the golf course at Mile End on Sunday morning, meant that the final qualifying round of the 2025/26 Winter League had to be abandoned, which meant that the draw for the knockout, had to be based on the best four rounds of results.
The top 16 pairs in the final table took part in the knockout stages which saw the top seeds Conor Burris and Lee Ayres play the 16th seeds Mike (Bobble) Etheridge and Scott Ayres.
The remainder of the draw followed the same criteria taken as the second seeds will play the 15th and so on, until eighth seeds Sam Drew and Chris Drew will play ninth placed Jaques Malan and David Matthews.
The first round of the knockout was scheduled to take place on Sunday (March 15).
With the low cloud still shrouding the course on Monday, the Seniors Team Bowmaker was also cancelled, which allows space to report on the Seniors Winter Knock-Outs, that had reached the final stages.
In the singles, both semi finals had to go to extra holes to determine the result.
Richard Medlin had to go to the second extra hole to see off the challenge of Colin Baird.
In the other, Kev Burford had to play three extra holes, before defeating Adrian Vines, in a very topsy turvy encounter.
Kev was four up on the front nine, before Adrian turned it round, to sit one up on the 18th, before losing that, to take the tie into extra time and it needed an three extra holes before Kev took the honours.
The Pairs semi finals have also been taken place.
Kev Burford and Bill Peffers had to go to the 20th hole, before defeating John Binnie and Adrian Vines.
In the final, they will play Paul Morphey and Wayne Stewart who had an easier passage, as they defeated Jim Fairweather and Richard Medlin, shaking hands on the sixteenth, as they won 3 & 2.
