Cinderford lost out on their travels, when they were beaten 31-19 by Redruth at the Recreation Ground.
The visitors made the perfect start when Brendan Llewelyn gathered up the ball and sprinted the length of the field to score a try, which Sonny Greenman converted.
Redruth responded with a try from Tom Cowan-Dickie, which Joseph Cummings converted.
The hosts then scored two tries in quick succession, both of which coming from No8 Chris Rovery and converted by Cummings.
A try from Josh Horrobin, which Greenman converted made it 21-14 at half-time.
The Cornishmen took control of the match in the early stages of the second half when Jack Simmons and Jack Counter scored unconverted tries.
Mattie Cotton did grab a late consolation try for Cinderford, but the hosts held firm to claim their victory.
Cinderford are now seventh in the table and on Saturday they take on relegation-threatened Loughborough Students.
A strong second half performance sealed a 24-43 Combination Cup win for Cinderford Stags against holders Westbury on Sunday.
It was Westbury who made the early inroads with two tries from Number 8 Max Kaufman, one of which was converted by outside-half Jay Scott for an early 12-0 lead.
Cinderford also crossed the whitewash but Robbie Pritchard added a third for the hosts.
The Stags came out strongly in the second half with a couple of early tries.
Cinderford’s power up front gave them the platform to seal the win.
Some slick handling and quick hands in the backs created further opportunities, allowing the Stags to extend their lead.
Westbury continued to battle and showed great determination throughout.
Kaufman scored his third for Westbury to keep the contest alive, however, the Stags finished strongly, adding two more tries to take the game.
