WOOLASTON Reserves lifted the West Dean Charities Intermediate Cup after a 4-1 win over North Gloucestershire League Division One rivals Worrall Hill.
Woolaston’s Adam Giles netted twice at Viney Hill to secure the trophy on Sunday afternoon.
The eventual champions came out of the blocks quickly and within five minutes Giles put them 1-0 up.
They made it 2-0 when Kyle Taylor scored but Worrall hill pulled a goal back.
However, Woolaston almost immediately regained their two-goal cushion when Carl Adams scored to make it 3-1, which it remained at the break.
The second half was only a few minutes old when Woolaston were awarded a penalty for handball in the box, but Taylor screwed his shot wide.
Not to be denied a fourth, Woolaston extended their lead through Giles as he made it 4-1 a few minutes later.
With nothing to lose Hill piled on the pressure but some heroic defending and good goalkeeping by Darren Price meant that Woolaston Reserves finished deserved 4-1 winners and lifted the cup.
