LYDNEY Town manager Mark Lee expressed his delight after seeing his team thrash county rivals Longlevens 6-2.

Lee praised the efforts of man of the match Liam Sheppard, adding: “Our tempo and quality from the first whistle was very pleasing, so much so that 6-0 at half-time wouldn’t have been an unfair scoreline.

"We expected them to come out and give it a go second half which they did, but we could have dealt better with both goals.

"It’s a welcome three points and it gives us confidence ahead of a tough game away to Royal Wootton Basset on Saturday.”
