A BRACE from 16-year-old Derry Palama helped secure cup final glory for Lydney Town B at Broadwell on Sunday.
Palama grabbed the opening goal from the penalty spot after just five minutes after referee Steve Cook punished a Coleford defender for handball.
Down a goal, Coleford Town pushed forward and began to gain the upper hand; they created good openings but forward Ethan Wilkins saw two efforts stopped by Lydney keeper and captain Ellis Boughton.
A good save by Morgan from Palama ensured the scoreline was 1-0 at half-time.
Before the hour mark, however, Lydney doubled their lead. Palama chased down a ball to the goal-line and squared into Ryland’s path, as he slid the ball home.
With a 2-0 lead Lydney looked fairly comfortable and in the 75th minute they made sure of the win when Palama scored the goal of the game.
He picked up the ball on the left and after tricking his marker, ran at goal before chipping the keeper to place the ball in the far corner of the net.
With a good crowd in attendance helped by unseasonably warm weather, £313 was raised on the gate for charity.
