CINDERFORD youngster Luke Thomas said he cannot wait to link up with older brother Keiran on the pitch after moving to Gloucester City on loan from parent club Derby County.
17-year-old forward Luke secured a move to the Championship side from Cheltenham Town in 2015 for a believed £100,000 fee.
He’s since made one appearance for the Rams’ Under-23 side in the Premier League Two, coming off the bench at Everton for 20 minutes having been amongst the substitutes for home fixtures against Reading and Arsenal.
He joins Keiran at City on a one-month deal, having seen his older brother sign for the Tigers last summer following his successful captaincy at Cinderford Town.
Keiran was suspended for the 2-0 loss at Darlington 1883, so a link-up with his younger sibling will have to wait.
Luke amade his bow in National League North on Saturday, coming on for half an hour and hopes to start in the derby clash against Worcester City at Whaddon Road next weekend.
“It’s very physical and high tempo, which I expected having watched a few games,” he said of the standard.
“The Worcester game is our next game in two weeks time and it’s a massive game. I’m buzzing to play with Keiran.”
City boss Tim Harris called Luke ’an exciting player’ after securing his loan deal.
“He can play in several positions and as we know, we need more competition” Harris said.
“He will excite the fans on the ball with his pace and has the ability to make things happen, he’s still young but has a big future”.
