ROSS Juniors Women were in 11th heaven as they scored that many goals away to Sporting Club Inkberrow on Sunday.

Millie Malsom fired four as a magnificent seven first half strikes put them 7-1 up at the break, before the visitors grabbed four more in the second period without reply.

Other scorers were Pippa Baker and Lauren Creed with two goals apiece, plus one each for Darcy Baker and Lily Irving, and an own goal.

Juniors were keen to bounce back having narrowly having lost their Mid West Counties Ladies League opener 3-2 at home to Redditch Borough Women the previous week.

And they did in style, with the club posting: “A fantastic away performance in our second league game of the season!

“Ross flew out the blocks and led 7-1 at half-time before adding another four goals to secure an emphatic win.”

The match was preceded by a minute’s applause held in memory of three people close to the hearts of everyone at Inkberrow.

Juniors Ladies were also flying at the weekend, downing Hereford hosts Westfields 5-1 in the Herefordshire Women’s League thanks to braces from Hannah Jenkins and Jess Brain and one from Summer Richardson-Wall.

Juniors Women next host Worcester City Lionesses at the Sports Centre this Sunday (October 4), kick-off 2pm.
