HARTPURY University is set to launch a new senior women’s football team – and is now looking for a manager to lead the ambitious project from the ground up.

The move will see Hartpury Women’s FC enter the Women’s Football Pyramid for the first time, with plans to establish the side as a competitive force in the national league system.

The new team will compete in the national league system, with clear ambitions to rise through the divisions and establish itself as a competitive force on the regional and national stage.

Drawing on Hartpury’s proven track record in elite sport and player development, the club aims to attract talented female footballers from across the country and provide them with a professional, high-performance environment.

The successful applicant will take charge of building the team, overseeing coaching, recruitment, and player development.

It marks a major step forward for women’s football at Hartpury, which already runs high-level college and university programmes and is recognised nationally for its work in sport and education.

A Hartpury spokesperson said: “We’re creating an environment that supports excellence both on and off the pitch. This is a chance to shape something from day one and be part of an exciting future for women’s football here.”

The manager will work across both college and university programmes, helping to recruit and develop talented female footballers while leading the senior side’s journey through the leagues.

A UEFA B Licence is essential, with experience in high-performance coaching and a strong understanding of the women’s game also required.

The role is full-time and permanent, with a salary of up to £26,000. Applications close on Tuesday, June 10, and interviews are due to take place the following week.

Hartpury says the appointment is part of its wider mission to become the best environment in the country for developing people and performance in football.
