AFTER leaving midway through last season for Evesham United, former Cinderford Town skipper Andy Lewis has returned to the Causeway.

Lewis, who has also had stints at Shortwood United and Yate Town after a schoolboy deal with Swansea City, departed the Forest’s Southern League West Division side for Evesham after Cinderford received an offer Lewis was ‘unable to refuse’.

The centre- back will have stiff competition with the likes of new club captain Nick Grimes and title- winning defender Nick Rhodes confirmed to be returning to Town for 2018-19.

Lewis rejoined the club ahead of their 2-1 win over Cardiff Met in pre-season action.

The game saw new signing Jacob Davidge score the winner for Town in his first match since fracturing his neck.

Cinderford lost 4-1 to Frome Town in a friendly last week and travel to Hellenic League Premier Division side Longlevens tomorrow, Thursday July 19.

Westfields visit the Causeway on Saturday July 21 before Town welcome Carmarthen on Saturday July 28.

Their final pre-season friendly is a trip to Goytre on Saturday August 4.
