CINDERFORD Town boss Paul Michael has swooped to reinforce his attacking options after signing Lydney Town star Declan Morley-Lyne.
The young Forester was an outstanding highlight over Lydney’s most recent two-year stint in the Hellenic League Premier Division.
Morley-Lyne finished the 2016/17 season as Lydney’s top goalscorer, netting 36 times in 42 appearances across all competitions.
He was also top scorer for the club the season before, scoring 28 goals in 47 games.
Morley-Lyne has also previously been picked for the Forest of Dean Select XI against Cinderford Town in past summers, and will most likely line-up against his former teammates when the Forest’s top two footballing sides do battle in a pre-season friendly on Saturday July 8 and Lydney’s Swan Road ground.
“Declan has been prolific in the league below for a sustained period of time,” Cinderford manager Michael said.
“He’s over 6ft4 tall, quick and I believe he can prove himself at this level.
“He’s a local Forest of Dean lad based in Lydney, which is important for us as a club moving forward.”
