THINGS are happening thick and fast at Cinderford Town as they prepare for a huge cup tie on Tuesday.
Town, who have enjoyed a superb run in the Southern League Division One South recently, have been named as the league’s Team of the Month while, off the pitch, their Causeway stadium has been given an FA ’C’ grading which means they will be allowed promotion to the next level if they get it this year.
Cinderford Town ave progressed to two cup semi-finals, the first of which is at home to Southampton outfit and league leaders Blackfield and Langley, who Town beat recently at The Causeway in the league.
That is in the Southern League Cup with the game kicking off at 7.45pm on Tuesday evening.
If they win, Cinderford will face either Lowestoft Town or Stratford Town, who both play in the Southern League Premier Central, in the final.
The other cup semi is in the Gloucestershire Professional County Cup where they will be up against the might of League Two high-flyers Forest Green Rovers, again on The Causeway.
That clash with Forest Green takes place sometime this month. And, just to add extra flavour to matters, there is also as good a chance as ever that Town will reach the Southern League divisional play-offs if their current run of form continues.
