BUOYED by news that he can fight again, Chris Higgs's boxing future may lie in America.

The pro fighter from Lydney was given a clean bill of health by an independent neurologist following recent brain scans.

It means he will get his licence back off the British Boxing Board of Control.

They revoked it after he was stopped in the seventh round of his International Masters title bout at the GL1 Leisure Centre in Gloucester last November.

Concerns were initially raised by the medical officer.

Chris's father Bryan said: "Chris will probably fight next on June 22 in Newport but he wants to go and fight in America.

"He went out to Freddie Roach's gym and did really well. I think going to America would be good for him – he's bound to improve.
