HAVING had their pitch destroyed by wild boar, Yorkley Football Club took the decision to put fencing around the perimeter.

But the day after the work got underway, somebody cut a hole in the fence!

The club has paid for £2,000 worth of fencing itself.

Yorkley FC chairman Mark Hudson said: "The fencers began putting it up last Wednesday. The next day, somebody had cut a five metre gap in it, behind the dugouts.

"I can't understand why people would do such a thing. It's costing us a lot of money to do the work. It's demoralising. I'm devastated.

"We agreed to fence around the pitch before doing any work on the ground because it would be pointless otherwise."
