ASTON Ingham Cricket Club’s 2017 season is already underway, with pre-season nets having started.

Junior nets continue on Friday, February 17 at Newent Leisure Centre from 5.30-6.30pm for 6-11-year-olds, with 12-15s from 6.30-7.30pm.

Again this year the lead coach is Bruce Ballance, brother of England star and newly-appointed Yorkshire Captain Gary Ballance.

The club’s own coaches, of which it has four ECL Two, and six coaching assistants, will also be helping run all the sessions.

Training takes a break until March 3 and then runs weekly until April 7.

The junior section is thriving with league sides at Under-9s, Under-11s, Under-13s and Under-15s levels, and boasts 60 members.

Adult nets take place on Sunday mornings, 8.30-10am, with Ballance again leading all sessions at the same venue.

Those sessions start on February 26 and run weekly until April 10 before going outdoors on Thursday evenings during the season.

Other upcoming events include the very popular annual Race Night taking place on Saturday March 25 at Aston Village Hall; Natwest Cricket Force and the annual Grand National Draw on Saturday April 8.
