Corse & Staunton v Painswick

A FALTERING batting display saw Corse and Staunton go down by 78 runs to Painswick in their first home game of the 2019 season.

Corse won the toss and chose to field, but Painswick opener George MacDuff had put on 21 of his 43 runs before Mike Gittings (1-16) trapped Matt Curtis for a duck to claim the day’s first wicket.

Reece Morris was next, caught by Corse skipper Tim Dannatt for four off Ed Goolden (2-29) and Painswick were 41-2.

Luke Woolway was next out, caught by Bertie Wyatt off Callum King (1-49) for 14 before Matt Brown (2-31) bowled MacDuff and Painswick were 108-4.

Brown then bowled David Boon for four runs, before Jon Tegg caught Ross Martin for 39 off the in-form Brad Fulton (4-16) to move the score to 140-6.
